List of the Most Influential Figures in Chinese Culture —Zhao Hongbin

Zhao Hongbin is an internationally renowned oil painter and Chinese calligrapher. Born in Shanghai in 1952, he specializes in portrait and landscape oil paintings, particularly renowned for his works featuring children, and is considered one of the most outstanding representatives of overseas Chinese artists. He holds a postgraduate degree in oil painting from Shanghai Jiao Tong University and an honorary doctorate in art from York International University in the United States. He previously served as the art editor of the Shanghai Science and Technology Association's magazine *Science and Life* and the editor-in-chief of the Shanghai University of Technology's *New Products Pictorial*. After relocating to Australia in 1988, he worked as a professional painter and later obtained permanent residency through the Australian government's recognition as an "International Artist of Outstanding Talent," subsequently becoming an Australian citizen.In Australia, he is hailed as "a 21st-century outstanding painter who recreates the spirit of Impressionist masters like Monet and Renoir." In China, he is known as an artist whose works depict "paradise-like beauty" based on bright, aesthetically pleasing, and joyful aesthetic standards.

Over the years, he has won more than 40 first prizes in national art competitions in Australia and numerous international art awards. In 1992, his portrait "Dr. Geza" won fourth place in the prestigious "Doug Moran Portrait Competition," Australia's highest portrait prize. His work "Golden Childhood" won the "Omega Modern Art Award" at the 22nd Royal (Commonwealth) International Art Exhibition, the "Most Influential Artist Award" at the 14th Beijing International Art Fair, the Gold Medal at the 16th Sino-Japan International Art Exhibition in Tokyo, and the Gold Medal at the 36th International Modern Art Exhibition in South Korea. His artworks have been showcased at prestigious art institutions worldwide.His works have been exhibited in Australia, the UK, the US, Japan, Singapore, Indonesia and Hong Kong. He is the author of numerous publications, including *Zhao Hongbin's Paintings*, *Overseas Chinese Oil Painters: Zhao Hongbin's Oil Paintings*, and *Famous Works by Famous Chinese Artists: Zhao Hongbin (Volume)*. He has been included in publications such as *Who's Who in Australia*, *Who's Who in the American Art World*, *Who's Who in the World*, *500 Influential People*. His published works include *Two Great Mentors, Jin Shangyi and Zhao Hongbin: A Collection of Works*, *Masters of Chinese Oil Painting*.
